The BandFive years ago, I swapped an older cell phone for a Bass Guitar from a friend at work named Henry. He said he would teach me how to play. This was the beginning of our band No Expectations. He was already an incredible musician. He plays Guitar, Bass, Drums and Piano. He would teach me bass lines to songs he has been working on or have been playing for years. I just picked it up fairly fast. From that point on, I have been the bass player in the band. After about four months of practicing, he started talking to an old friend who was a drummer. The three of us started practicing every Sunday. We practiced for about seven months before we thought we were ready for our first show. We played at a 4th Of July party at the drummer's friend's giant house. It was a blast. There were probably about 100 plus people there. As time went on, we played more shows and practiced every Sunday for at least four hours. We did this for almost two years and then we started having problems with our drummer. We all took a break and never really got back together to play except for Henry and I. The break was good for us. Henry was pretty busy at that time anyway. He had a daughter going off to college with a full scholarship and then later on got married. He was very busy with that. Then one day at the office, Henry was telling me about a person that works with us that plays drums named Mason. We thought why not have him come out and play with us. He turned out to be a great drummer and had played most of the songs that we were doing. Mason joined the band last December. We have already got about 40 songs on our play list. Then in April of 2005, we picked up a rhythm guitar player that Henry has been teaching named Shawn. This person had been playing for a long time and was already very good. He just wanted to learn more guitar styles and technique. It turned out that Henry was really impressed with him and asked Shawn to try out with our band. He passed with flying colors! We play mostly classic rock, blues, top 40 and Pop Punk. We are getting ourselves together and hope to start playing at small clubs soon. We did play at a toga party for a bunch of friends at work in April of 2005. It was a lot of fun. We sounded very good that night.
